I have a hen that I noticed this morning was walking weird. I isolated her to check her over. She seems tired, is panting, and is walking weird. Her head kind of flips back a little sometimes as she walks. She layed an egg during the time I was observing her. I brought her scrambled eggs and she ate all of them . I didn't see her drink water, so I offered it off of the tip of my finger. She would drink some that way. I have recently given the flock poultry cell in their water and had some in their today. I occasionally provide that off and on, just for health.
It is only currently 76 degrees here, and no other chickens are panting.
I have videos trying to capture her walking with the head flip.

I see it, it's subtle, but it's there isn't it?

Have you checked inside the beak just to be sure it's clear of any lesions, yellow or white pasty material or Canker?

I'd be inclined to leave her with her flock so she doesn't get stressed from separation. I'd also start Vitamin Therapy of 400IU Vitamin E along with 1/4 tablet B-Complex daily. A small treat of egg will help with the uptake of E.

Check her over again for any lice/mites, see that her crop is emptying and look in her ears for any signs of infection/pus - the inside of the ear should be relatively clean looking.

Was her egg normal? No soft shell or difficulty laying the egg...

Has she been dewormed? Can you get fecal float to rule out worms as part of the problem.

Thank you! ❤️
I will have to look closer at her ears. There aren't any lesions or abnormalities in her mouth.
I did separate her for a bit, to let her eat alone and also so I could watch her up close. But, I then returned her.
Her egg was normal, but I wondered if she had another maybe bound, because she unfortunately lays two a day once in awhile. I could not feel anything though.
Do I crush the tablet and sprinkle it in the egg, and squeeze the vitamin E on it as well?
The whole flock just turned 1 year old. I have not dewormed them yet. I had been reading on it, but hadn't decided on the best course. What is your suggestion in regards to deworming? ( how often, with what)
Today is much cooler out, and she has definitely perked up. There is zero panting, and she looks much happier, but still has that subtle head flop. She is more active and looks more like herself.
I hope the vitamins are the answer.

Oh, then she may have been working on a egg if she sometimes has 2 in one day.
If you notice this again, then try giving her 1 Calcium Citrate with D3 tablet to see if that helps ease the laying process. While not unheard of, it's not necessarily "normal" to lay 2 eggs in a day, but sometimes the reproductive system can be slowed for some reason and then there's a delay - having 2 in a day is hard on them, so the Calcium may help. (Only give the extra Calcium if she's showing the signs of stress or you suspect she's having difficulties).

For giving the vitamins and Calcium. Just pull down on her wattles, pop the pill/tablet into the beak and let her swallow. They get wise to things added to treats and feed, so giving each individually and orally ensures they get the pills.

Thank you very much for the suggestions! I am keeping a close eye on her. She seems her normal self now. There wasn't a second egg layed, so I don't know what was/is going on. It won't hurt to continue giving her a boost of vitamins for a little bit.
