Chicken Pigeon Hybrid...

Found this video on the net.. seems to be a Japanese bantam... but I have never seen one with a tail like that.. reminds me of my fantail pigeons!

I know its not really a hybrid, but its very curious to see.

Weird maybe a bantam x tiny turkey cross. I've never seen a tail like that ever on a chicken. Crows like one. Looks like no leg under it, like those seramas, some I think they call "creepers" because their legs are too short. I suppose it's a first and they will be putting out clones for BIG Bucks someday.

How cool! I love seeing different breeds. I checked out the site. It looks like they are bred in Thailand and in English they would be called Boomee Bantam. Yep, they look like Seramas with a really great flared tail. Even the hens have great flare, as you can see from another photo from their site:


But Seramas have that flared tail, but maybe not as exagerated. See link for more info: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serama

It says the ideal Serama tail feathers forms a 45 degree angle with the body, so these bantams have an even wider angle.

They have another video on the site with a rooster and you can hear what sounds like a pigeon in the background. Although they were not crossed with the pigeon, they sure look like they were inspire by the fantail pigeon. I noticed they have a much less upright posture than the Serama. That's interesting... thanks for the info and links... I had never heard of that breed.. and I live in Thailand. I want to get some now.. I think they are beautiful!

Wow! These are actually super cute! It does look kind of like a serama crossed with a mini-turkey. I would love to have some of these.
