2 years ago, I got 2 beautiful Orpingtons chickens for Christmas , sadly, they carried a mean bug which brought my whole flock down thank God all of them recovered ( I‘m talking about swollen head, eyes shut and 5 days of force feeding and giving tea) this year, I‘m not sure ….

I had a similar issue with a rooster I got, he was asymptomatic, infected my flock, three of my hens were inside for a month, I didn't lose anyone either, it was rough. Personally I won't buy grown chickens anymore, just raise them myself.

Thanks, I’m pretty excited. We have all brown egg layers except one who lays a green egg. I’m excited to have blue eggs in the basket!

I agree, I have tan, olive and Easter eggers, I just need dark brown and yellow and I'll be set, just don't tell my DH

That’s quite a rainbow! I wish I had more space tbh, but no such luck. We need to be close to work for hubs I’ll be content once we get some blues.

I sure wish I had more colors lol.
I have 5 EE, one is an OE I guess. But of the other 4 3 lay blue, and then my CCL lay blue...everyone else lays brown except for one with a light jade color. (Enough to not look blue when placed next to blue lol)

You'd think I'd have a little more variety (or I did with the EEs in there)

I am not going to project x-mas on my chickens. Going to try and keep them warm, cold here so they get more feed bags on the walls for warmth, the get the ice cleared from their bowls. My dog knows more about x-mas than my birds ever will. He will celebrate.
