Like every other nation in the world Persians have kept chickens beside their farm houses for centuries.
This human/chicken relationship is best shown on many of the idioms that refers to chicken in Persian culture.
From top of my head :
1-Neighbor's chicken looks like Goose. Equivalent of The grass always looks greener the other side of the fence.
2-His/her chicken has one leg. Used when we want to say he/she is stubborn and hard to change his/her mind.
3- A rooster that crows untimely needs to be culled. Used to silence and scare the untimely noise makers of the neighborhood.
4- Count your chicks only at the end of the fall.
5-His chukar sings like a rooster. Used to refer to somebody who is extremely happy.
6- Hungry chicken is always dreaming about food.
