Hi. I have a 4-5 pound hen older girl. She has nasal congestion, head shaking at times, sounds very wet when she breathes. Appetite is good, does not act il. She has been this way ever since she got into a fight, about 2 months ago, with our mean and nasty rooster. (He is no longer with us). She began then with the audible chest congestion when she would breath. Thought it would go away. It did not. Over the last 1-2 weeks, she began to develop stuffy nose And some head shaking. Today she sound very wet like I wish I could suck it out of her. She is eating, drinking, acting normal and even lays an egg once in a while. I have doxycycline 50mg capsule. can I give her that much and do I have to dilute it or can I just give it to her as a capsule. If anybody has any ideas. I would appreciate the help
thank you Leslie

Yes. She needs some antibiotics. The trauma from the attack lowered her immune system. You may be dealing with MG or MS (sort of chronic chicken bronchitis from a bacteria that is around). Be aware if MG/MS, it means your flock is exposed and you should keep an only in, no out policy.

As to dosage, I'll leave that to @casportpony. I've linked an article below as well:
