CHICKEN WITH CLOGGED NOSE + EYE MOVING (please help)

Round 2 Today. Here she is before I began picking again.

I’ve made a careful effort not to agitate the scab, she’s having a snack right now and wandering around my house.

I’ve taken to small sharper tweezers instead of a toothpick and progress is much faster.

Still acting her normal self.

I will add though, during cleaning her nose her eyes did produce like 3 super tiny bubbles. I also tried to give her some of the VetRX.

I’ll keep you all updated. View attachment 4038458
Glad to hear she's pecking around still and that you were able to make some progress on the scab. Hopefully you'll be able to dig out whatever is in there- I'm a bit worried about the fact that the swelling/pressure looks like it's pushing down on the eye (see attached image)

Hopefully that's not a solid mass and cleaning out the gunk/starting the antibiotics get's the swelling down. Does it look any bigger today? Also, does the area above her eye (eyebrow) seem particularly sensitive/tender?

Feeling around the area above her eye feels more solid than anything. She let me touch it for a second.

I really hope it’s not a solid mass either.

I didn’t really notice a huge change in swelling. The picture from yesterday and today don’t show very much growth. I can’t tell if there wasn’t actually any growth.

Either way, I’ll keep digging every day the best I can. I hope she can hold out until the meds get delivered

Here’s miss Artemis today. Oddly enough it seems like her eye and head swelling isn’t as bad as it was yesterday? Hopefully that isn’t just me.

I’m gonna let her free range with her sisters for a bit before I take her in for day 3.

I appreciate all of you that have joined me on this journey, it’s helped me feel less alone. ❤️

It definitely doesn't look any worse! Thank you for the update- and absolutely, the wonderful thing about the BYC is no chicken keeper is ever truly alone 🤗

Here are pictures from today and from the first day.
Progress has been made. But I wish I could help end her discomfort sooner.

I think I’ll be able to get that darn thing out of there by tomorrow or the next day.
That stuff is rock solid and in there pretty good, but she’s getting more cooperative.

The medicine has just now been shipped!

(Note: I realize her beak is very long. Hers grows abnormally fast. In this case it’s kind of helping me gently keep her head in place so I’ll trim it after I fix her up.)
