Chickens eat FROGS!

Ok I know they'll eat just about anything but I just watched one of my pullets swallow a frog whole! Of course before she did that she had to play a game of keep away with all her buddies.

THat was a riot.

Is she going to be okay having swallowed it whole? It was about an inch long plus legs. She seems just fine, but double checkin.

You mean she didn't beat it to death first?! Mine do. They find the nearest solid object and beat the poor frog to death first. 'Course mine go for the big meaty frogs.

You should have seen them try to eat a turtle one day. They just couldn't get the little booger to come out of his shell.

They sound like they're highly intelligent, though!

As far as them eating frogs, they're fine. I think anytime they ingest a frog, insect of any sort, or even a small animal like a mouse they're fine. It's what they'd do if you weren't around to give them yummy treats and good grit.

So that's what happened to our frogs!!!!!!!!!!!

We have a 2 acre pond bordering our property and when we moved here 3 years ago we had a ton of frogs and toads around. I noticed last year that our frog population had decreased significantly and that happened to be around the time I got chickens.

Ugh I dont know if Chickens work like dogs, but toads get dogs all high and then they throw up...

Ours will eat frogs and they also love lizards.
