chickens eat non ripe pumpkins

Myself, I wouldn't hesitate to give young unripe vegs to the chickens. I have no scientific basis for this answer it's just my experiences so far. If I have something like your pumpkin that I would normally give a peak ripeness, I don't hesitate to throw them immature ones as well.

I feel the worst that will happen is they might not eat it or not eat it all if it's too under-ripe and very hard. If it got far enough along to start seeds at the very least they'll gobble those up
