Hi Everyone,
My name is Suzanne and we have recently hatched some chicks. We've had chickens for about a year now and the whole family is excited. The whole family means me, my 3 kids, the (small) dog and even the cat. My husband not so much as his entire backyard "gets swallowed up" by all the animals lol.
We have 8 chickens: 7 hens and a rooster. 3 hens are shavers and they live by themselves as they do not tolerate others to mingle with them. The other 5 are: a goldlaced Wyandotte, a mixed white with black specks (part Araucana), 2 lavender Bantam-Orpingtons and our tiny white rooster (was sold to us as a silky hen. Not too sure about the silky and when he started crowing we were also sure he's not a hen!).
Especially around the chicks we have many questions, hopefully I can find some answers here.
