Chickens like day time roost

This is in the middle of the chicken yard. They all roost in the coop at night, but enjoy this during the day

No. It was just built like that to stay where it is

What kind of wood is it constructed with and how does it not blow over in strong storms or wind?

I would have to ask my son in law. We have not had bad storms and the area is surrounded by pine trees that break a lot of wind

Looks like common 2x2 fir lumber from hardware store; can be treated/painted to last longer outdoors. Likely doesn't catch much wind to blow over, but could easily be designed for anchoring down.
