Chicks comb color

Hi this is my first flock! I’m wondering if this color comb coming in is normal? My girls are free range they get sunflower seeds and are on a grower feed, they also occasionally get a drench as it’s gotten cold out

Looks normal to me. It's a young bird so the comb is transitioning from yellow to red. And when it's cold and they are not laying their combs will be pink.

How old is that chicken? With that comb and wattle size and color I think you have a boy. That's probably what is throwing you off.

It’s suppose to be female according to RK. I have two of them and have had them for 12 weeks.

It's common for them to get it wrong. Does the other one have the same size and color comb?

Yes they both have one and some of my other girls have them slightly smaller though. I’ve read this is due to them not laying yet !

Could you post a photo of some of the others. I'd be interested in a close-up of the head showing and a shot showing the legs and profile.

At 12 weeks I'm looking at the comb and wattles size and color, hence the close-up. But I'm also looking a the legs, posture, and conformation. The boys tend to have thicker longer legs and an upright posture. Conformation can be different. Sometimes you can see pointy saddle or hackle feathers that young if they have just molted. I did not see any in that photo.
