I'm planning to order a set of 8 or so chicks soon. I live in NH and would like, of course, a short shipping time, and healthy chicks.

I'd like a hatchery which supports mixed breeds, as well, if possible. I'm currently looking at Meyer and Cackle Hatcheries, but if anyone has any other favorites, I'd love to hear about it!

Howdy! I bought from Cackle and Meyer, I bought Cackles mystery surprise box and a mix of EEs from Meyer. I am in KY so Meyer had a quicker shipping time and the chicks arrived mid-day instead of in the morning.
Both seem to be great to buy from, my only Cackle complaint is they tossed in a few chicks that looked a little worse for wear but they had all survived chick-hood, minus one (the smallest) but that was on me. For Cackle my guess is 4-7 out of 23 were roosters out of a unsexed batch. I ordered one rooster and 14 hens from Meyer, rooster is roostering and only one other hen is acting cocky.
I started with Cackle as I really like the surprise, I'm often too indecisive to pick anyway. I had ordered from Meyer the second time as Cackle did not have year round shipping.
I will most likely end up buying from Meyer again as the chicks arrived sooner and in better health than my Cackle ones.
If you have any other questions about the shipping/buying experience let me know!
My suggestion is to buy from whichever is the closest to you, even better if you buy locally!

I've always received healthy chicks from Murray McMurray but this time they were sold out so I ordered some from Ideal (sexed cream legbars sell out fast)I've ordered over 100 chicks from Murray and never lost one.A lot can go wrong when you order chicks online so I only order my chicks to be shipped in the spring or fall .They have a better chance of surviving

Hello fellow New Hampshire friend! Have you ever tried ordering chicks from the Barn Store of New England is Salisbury NH? I have never had any problems with the chicks they sell! I have gotten chicks from them for 3 yrs and have never had a problem. Tell the store owner Kate that Josh sent ya if you want to go there. They might be out of chicks tho. But they have other farm supply stuffs such as animal feed and bedding. I have gotten huge bales of pine shavings for around $7.00 . No joke!
