Chocolate silky hen

I bought these 2 chocolate pullets as chicks ! They’re now 5 and 6 months old ! Now that they’re older I’m noticing on one of the kinda looks like a barring pattern coming in ! The breeder near me said it was sun bleaching ! Can anyone educate me or recognize this ! My first time with this variety! Tia !!!

Your breeder is probably right, or it could be roosters. Mine are that color but now tannish on the top of their wings from the rooster. I must have to cut his nails as he's got 6 hens with him in the breeding pen and this shouldn't be happening.

In the winter months, ours seem much darker so I do believe the sun has something to do with it.

These two aren't getting much sun now since they got put in here in February as this pen is covered with greenhouse tarp.
