Thank you!! I just showed my husband all of your pictures and weather permitting, he is going to help me get a similar set up!!! I think this will end up being a lot cheaper than anything else I've looked at, and considering our duck family is expanding at the end of this month, we need to upgrade asap lol

So the black tub is a regular pond filter? How often does it clog now? Do the hydroponics filter garden keep it from clogging so often?

Yes I only clean the filters every 10 days now and I can see the bottom of the pond again. I didn't imagine it wiould work so well

We are planning on building a new pen setup this autumn . . . I hope I can figure out how to incorporate something like this. Oh, and I hope you don't mind I shared this with some permaculture mates, and you have made some people very, very happy.

This is something a number of them have been looking for and thinking about.

I like how simple this looks! I have been researching duckponics/quaquaponics/aquaponics systems for a duck pond for a while now and I'm trying to keep it as simple as possible. We are working on our duck area now, getting 3-4 ducks in the spring, and looking at a 750gal pond for them. It will be right next to my garden, but I would like to have most of the water filter through a system such as yours. Do you have any more information and pictures on how you created your system and how it works?
