Cleaning Solutions for Chick Supplies

I’m less than a month away from picking up my chicks! I’ve got everything together, just wondered if there was anything I should keep in mind as I clean my new supplies and get them ready.

I’ve heard chicks can be pretty sensitive, so wanted to know the best way to clean everything as I get their brooder set up.

I’ll have 6 chicks in there, and I’m housing them in a large plastic tote, with a plastic feeder and waterer (that’s specifically what I’m planning to clean). Do I just go with basic soap and water, or should I be using a diluted bleach solution?

Any tips would be great, thank you!

I've always just used soap and water unless they get real bad, which is when I clean them with vinegar. Not much bleach usage in my household.
