Clot-looking veins in fertile egg on day 7

I’ve dipped his beak multiple times but he doesn’t seem to get the message like the other chick does

That is ok it might still be relying on the egg white that it absorbed before it hatched. Some chicks just wont go near the water or feed until they are 3 days old.

Sometimes that can be curiosity, instinct or follow the leader. Very few of mine were drinking yesterday (day 2) but all of them raced over to see and peck the feed when it was sprinkled on the bottom of the brooder. Today (day 3) most of them are drinking.

We had a chat with the breeder over the phone he gave us some great advice, and we ordered another batch of eggs to try again, he was great and helpful

That's fantastic that he is a good breeder that cares, he should be able to help with any major problems via video call as well.

The other good news is that if one or both of your chicks turn out to be pullets you will have a walking talking babysitting incubator in your backyard for next season.

Yeah:) I already have some lovely friendly pullets from another guy (the profile pic shows one of them) but they are not broody yet, and have just reddened up in the face
