Hello just want to confirm that Corid is what I need. I see there is a 9.6% solution. Is this the correct one and then would I use the dose 10 ml/ 1 gallon? How many days do I give it and do I need to repeat? How long do we need to discard eggs post treatment? I have attached pictures of the eggs and the fecal results. The veterinarian I work for said that we should focus on the coccidia right now. I have lost 2 chickens in the last 10 days to ascites. Don’t think it’s related they were from the same hatchery and I lost their sister to the same about 1 year ago. This has prompted me to do some digging into what is going on.
Main question:
Dose
Egg withdrawal
Treatment of run area
I think the pictures attached if not I will try again.
Thanks for all the help!

Your Corid dosage is correct. Give it 5 days straight and make a fresh batch daily. There is no egg withdrawal after using Corid.

Coccidia are everywhere in the soil, you cant eliminate it, but you can control it. I've dealt with it and have lost chicks and young birds, birds were excreting blood in feces and was verified via necropsy. Corid and Toltrazuril failed. Keeping everything as dry as possible is key in controlling the protozoa.

I use sand in all my pens/coops and it helps keep everything dry. It's easy to scoop up feces and dispose of it.
However, living in a hot, wet/moist environment can be a challenge such as where we live here in Florida.

I recommend spraying the soil in your pen(s) with 50/50 water/ammonia mixture and let it sit for a day. The next day, turn the soil over, and repeat spraying, let it sit for a day and spray it the the next day. After 5 days and letting sunlight hit your turned over soil, you can can put your birds back in the pen.
This procedure worked for me and havnt had any issues since.

Another option is to move your birds into another "clean" pen. Then you can "decontaminate" their previous pen. Sunlight helps a lot, so does ammonia. Keeping everything as dry as possible in the pens (and coops) helps. Clean out coops on a daily basis. Good luck.

Thank you for your response. I too live in Florida so keeping pens dry and be a challenge. They have a large portion of our backyard that is considered their pen. I don’t really have another area they can go into. I am going to consolidate their pin into a smaller area so it will be easier for me to clean up their stool each night. I was going to get some diatomaceous earth also and put in the area or do we think that’s just a waste of money?

Sorry, I have another question since I cannot really remove them from the area they are in if I wanted to do the 50-50 ammonia water Aleutian would it be safe to spray that at night when they go up and then let them back out and that yard during the day. If not, I may be able to keep them out of one area treat that for a five days and then allow them in the other half but they would still be in quarters. Not sure how the ammonia affects the respiratory system.
