My younger Flock was diagnosed with coccidia by a vet. Before I found out they were infected I put eggs in the incubator and I have hens sitting on eggs that are about to hatch. My question is… do I need to treat the chicks in the brooders and the ones about to hatch for coccidia also? If so, what dosage? The other chicks are between 6-15 weeks old. They’ve been on amprolium for 2 weeks and the vet just said to do another 2 weeks because they are still infected. I’ve read where people lower the dosage after five days but I didn’t think to ask the vet about that. What should I do? Also, I have 2 chicks that are approximately 10 weeks old that are worse off than the others. Weight loss and lethargic. One of them is my favorite bird. Is there anything that I can do to help them pull through? They are currently in the intensive care unit.
