My cockatiel makes this sound a lot and sometimes moves his head up and down. I just want to know what this means. Thanks in advance. It kind of sounds like a long laugh and another sounds like 2 chirps vombined into one. There are two different sounds.

I am his friend. I came here asking if these sounds were normal and you criticize me. Maybe I can't afford more than one.
Woah woah woah, I am NOT criticizing you in anyway.

I have a LOT of experince with animals, and I am trying to tell you that he does need a friend.
A human does not replace another bird, How would you feel, stuck without anyone else other then maybe a dog, or a cat?
And, if you can't afford to FULLY care for a animal, you shouldn't get that animal.

Awe makes me miss my cockatiel. It is a male, he doesnt really need a friend. But, looks like he was admiring himself and singing to himself. Have you worked with him to speak yet? If you keep repeating his name or a phrase, he will eventually learn it.
We taught ours his name, Jasper. Then he learned to say Jasper is a pretty bird, hello, hello jasper. But, once we taught him the whistle - he stopped learning new words. I don't know if he was at his langauge capacity though.
Usually they will attach to one person and won't care about the rest. Lol
Also, the head bobbing is like a dance they do. It is all good.
