Ok so my wife is an Italian city girl and I am a country boy from GA. When we got acreage and I started my little hobby farm double j. (Named after my two boys Jake and Jack). We started with chickens, and she and my boys named them. They settled on all italian food names. My BO roo is Maccaronni, then his ladies are Capicola, Taramissu, Portabella, and totally random is Miss Clucker (she really shows out when she lays, hence the name). What are y'alls chicken's names.

Mine are nothing fancy...I let my

year old name them all (so ya get what ya get ...lol)
He named them Bella, Tweety, Pepper and Arrow

I started off with flower names (Marigold, Daisy...), but didn't stick, so moved to picnic food names (not that my girls are picnic food...like "Potato Salad", "Pickle Strip", "Lemon Pie", etc). But once I got to know my girls, their names actually became who they are... I have Goldie Girl (lightest color in flock), Scraggle (comb looks like fingers sticking up on her head), Popeye (my one-eyed girl), BC (stands for "Biggest Comb"), & Other Girl. Haven't named my jeuveniles yet!

We have gone with the flower theme...my mommy passed away in June of 2009 and she had AMAZING flower beds and gardens....my 11 year old and I chose flower names in memory of her. We just started with chicks this spring and our oldest ones are now about 2 1/2 months old and our youngest ones are about a month old (most do not have names yet as they were straight run and we are not sure who we can keep)

Daisy-black cochin
Dahlia-blue black cochin
Violet-blue olive egger
Lilac-blue maran
Lily-black maran
Clover-barred rock
Dandelion (aka Dandy....my 6 yr old named her)
Trillium (aka Tilly) blue laced red wyandotte
Nasturtium (aka Nessie) speckled sussex
Chrysanthemum-(aka Chrysse) speckled sussex

The above chicks are 2 1/2 months old

Pansy-silver lace wyandotte
Tulip-buff orpington
Daffodil-(aka Dilly) buff orpington

These chicks are about 6 1/2 weeks old

Our newest chicks are 4 weeks old and straight run, so we have only named one as we are sure she is a hen

Delphinium-(aka Finni) speckled sussex
Macaroni and Cheese-buff cochin.....my 3 year old has named this one....straying from the flower thing, but too funny!!! We are pretty sure this one is a hen....so we may all have flowers and one food!!!!!!! LOL

pretty sure the following are hens....just waiting a little longer to make sure we can keep them
buff cochin
blue cochin
silverlaced cochin

We are having fun naming our chicks and just having fun with them every day!!!

We named our chicks according to their personalities (mostly).

Earbud tilts her head and stares at you when you talk.
Thumper spends half her day ramming her head into the side of the cage.
Chippy has the exact same markings as a chipmunk.
Ashe had the good fortune to be named after the county we live in.
Korma was a suggestion from a FB friend. Don't you just love it?
Mira and Cali were named together to form the word Miracle. They almost died after taking a romp through the water bowl on their second day here and I figured it was a miracle they survived.
Dottie was named for the dot on her forehead. She was the first chick I ever held and of course that made her my favorite, but unfortunately she passed away.
We just got a rooster yesterday and the first name that popped into my head was Henry!

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that named my chicks! My in-laws laughed at me for it.
