I keep getting mixed information between online and other peoples opinions etc. I currently have 14 chicks (2 lavender Orpington, 1 blue australorp, 3 black australorp, 1 Colombian rock, and 7 Americanas) I’m in the process of preparing their coop and their run. The coop is 8 x 7 with 6 1/2’ ceilings. It’s going to have a minimum of 3 5’ rows of roosting bars (I can either extend the length or add an additional row if I needed to) with 5 nesting boxes (I do not know how many of my 14 chicks are actual hens at the moment because 10 are only 7 days old and 4 are only 4 days old.) The run is going to be 10‘ x 20‘ with a minimum of 7’ ceiling (most of the roof will be covered for protection from rain etc. so they can be out more without dealing with the harsh element's.) (I can do 10 x 30 if I had to.)
