i currently have some ideas for a coop and i was wondering if anyone in here as used masonry(stucco) wire instead of chicken wire? i wonder if it would be a good choice. i currently have about 100 pieces of 3x8 that was given to me. if anyone has ever tried this i would greatly appreciate the feedback. thank you

Heck, use it! It's probably heavier than poultry mesh, right?

Three by eight inch mesh, if that's the standard of measurement you use where you live (BYC is international), is not going to keep out most small predators, though. And won't keep in baby chicks. You will need to run hardware cloth around the lower bottom at least. Or are you talking 3 x 8 foot panels? Is the mesh that tight honey comb? That would work.

I use poultry mesh with hardware cloth all along the bottom 24 inches, and heavy steel hog panels over all that to keep out large predators like bears and mountain lions.

They are 3 foot by 8 foot panels and yes they are honey comb tight and sharp if you try to mess with it too much with bare hands

I have used heavy wire lathe that tile workers use for flooring!!! It's solid and I put it on the inside of my coop , screwed with washers to the cross beams of the trusses. If a weasel get in through the soffit , he has to face the wire lathe next.
Ps I'm glad I used it as apprised to chicken screen. Good luck
( I believe the screen comes 26"x8')
