I wonder if that metronidazole dose will work for 10 week old poults. One appear to be coming down with blackhead. My royal palm is not affected by it, but the Midget White Tom (no longer alive) father was susceptible. This poult appears to be susceptible. 30 mg/kg?

30-50 is what I use, but I always also treat with Baytril too since it's not usually the blackhead that kills them, it's the secondary e. Coli infection that does.

Do you treat when you see sulfur yellow poop, or is there an earlier symptom to look for?

A chicken that is a carrier can be de-wormed and treated with metronidazole and no longer be a carrier.

The minimum effective dose of metronidazole is 30mg/kg of body weight, how that translates to fish-zole tablets in the water is way to difficult for me to calculate, and then there's the fact that it's very bitter tasting, so oral dosing is the preferred way to medicate, IMNSHO.
