First time chick momma. I just purchased 9 chicks and 3 are Cornish chicks. I didn’t realize Cornish chickens were raised for meat not laying (the later is my intent). I read that Cornish chickens should be separated from the rest of the flock. Is this true and if so why? Wondering if I’ll be able to raise all nine chicks together?
Also, I have no intent on raising Cornish chicks for meat. Other than low egg production, what are the drawbacks of keeping them as laying birds?
Thank you!
