Hi everyone, how heat tolerant are Cornish cross meat birds? It can get up to 115 F here in South Carolina on the worst days but averages around 90 F in the Summer here. Can a Cornish X survive this heat if it has shade and maybe a fan in the insulated coop? I accidentally ended up with a what I'm thinking is a baby Cornish X that I want to keep alive as long as possible.

Whilst they do suffer somewhat, members keep them successfully in the southern states. This link, whilst not specific to broilers will give you some additional ideas - https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/788391/keeping-chickens-cool-in-summer-heat

I'm sure that you are aware that its unlikely that your Cornish X will thrive beyond 3 months (particularly if food intake is not appropriately controlled).
