I am new to chickens. I got my chicks April 7, 2025.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

Barred Plymouth Rock - Mildred
Easter Egger - Henrietta
Easter Egger Bantam - Phoenix
Splash Maran - Gertrude
Splash Mix - Marcy maybe Marky
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
We live on 10 acres and we love animals. It’s not just about the eggs for me it is the connection to raising these chicks into healthy adult chickens.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
It’s my husband and I, 2 dogs, 3 outside cats, one inside cat, 2 ponies. In the near future we are looking to get goats. I am in sales and my husband is a diesel mechanic.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found BYC on a search engine looking for information about one of my chicks. Lots of people just like me looking for answers or advice on raising chickens and making sure they are happy and healthy.
