I am a geek and have a spreadsheet for that,
I have 8 hens which for food, chanvre and the like cost me about 400€ a year
However this year there have been extras with a treadle feeder 85€ and an extension to the hen house at 1100€
Over here the 400€ would cover our costs on eggs plus that of our two sets of friends.
But they are my hobby and far cheaper than the new wot not for my husbands camera this year
