Thank you!! We have been thinking about predators, but we look them in the very protected coop every night, which is when predators are most active, so we’re hoping they’ll be fine. That’s a great idea about the wood around the upper edge, I might just have to try it! Thanks againWow, that seems like a really elaborate, quail-friendly set-up! My only worry would be if a predator could pull the staples from the wood and get behind the wire mesh. But it looks pretty sturdy. Well done! And I love the wide, low ramp - I can see how it would be easy for the quail to use it.
If you find that too much bedding falls through the hole to the lower level, you could attach wood around the upper edge to keep the bedding away.
Thank you so much!! hey a new coop is a pretty sweet dealIt's gorgeous! Love the detail! My husband is so mad, he thought his coops are the best and now he's grumbling about a rebuild on ours....(I'm going to get another coop out of this so I owe you one) Enjoy!
It’s been difficult getting them into the coop, but they’ve only been in there two nights and we’re just starting the process of training themHow do you get them into the coop? Do you have to chase them in?
It looks amazing, I'm sure they love it. Are they difficult to access for things?
I'm not sure you need a heat lamp at this stage. They're fully feathered, so they should be okay unless it gets really cold.
