Yesterday I came home from work to find a dead six foot long black rat snake in my yard. It was as big around as my wrist. It appeared to have lots of small wounds on it mostly by it's head. In the past my two guineas have killed smaller snakes and left similar wounds on them. However those were in the vicinity of 6 - 12 inches long.
Could two guineas really have killed a snake this big? Neither guinea appeared to have a ruffled feather. They were just happily going around the yard munchin on bugs.
I have a feeling that snake is why my ducks egg production has been spotty lately. I don't mind non-venomous snakes on my property and appreciate the bugs and robents they eat. But I gave my guineas some extra feed and treats last night. I don't need a snake that big eating my eggs.
