Cream Legbar/Nake Neck Cross

I just took some tonight. I’ve included a pullet and cockerel from the same hatch that didn’t have naked necks.
I’ve also added a pic of a boy someone purchased from me as a chick. Always cool to see how everyone turns out.

They haven’t started laying yet so excited to see what I get.

They all look so cool! That’s gotta be a fun cross. Keep us updated on egg colours. I’m super curious what colour they end up laying. Would be interesting to cross naked necks with other breeds with fun colouration and/or feathers.

First egg from one of the naked neck/cream legbar crosses!
It’s olive like I had hoped! It’s from one of the three dark girls, but the one with the crest and some of the red/auburn coloring.
Waiting to see what the other three lay.

Amazing! I would be interested to know how this cross changes behaviours etc, if indedd it does. Have you notived any other different traits than the obvious looks and egg colouration? this mix! Xx

They are all flighty for sure. Unfortunately I didn’t spend the time I should have, but my naked neck hens were also flighty.
The rooster hasn’t crowed yet and definitely doesn’t seem to be a good protector at this point. I have multiple Roos and both him and his brother are similar in that way. His brother didn’t get the naked neck and has the build of a cream legbar. I’m hoping that will change in time.
The hens are pretty mild tempered. One hen (NN) that I have left from when I bred these is somewhat of a bully. Not sure if she’s the mother to anyone but so far they aren’t bullies.

This girl may not have a naked neck, but she is a naked neck/cream legbar cross.
She lays beautiful and large eggs!
Even without the naked neck, the cross is worth it for the egg color!

Thats really interesting, thanks. I never considered it but my word your pics have changed my mind! I do find crested legbars to be beautiful, classy looking birds. I currently have a broody, brooding some showgirls, however, when I get my new Brinsea 56 EX (if thats even the name) I will dedinitely give this a go! Just stunning

They are definitely worth a try!
It’s been cool to see what birds have certain genes. I know nothing about breeding chickens except the thought of this would look cool and maybe I could get this color egg
The bird above has the naked necks body type while her brother that doesn’t have the naked necks either, he has his mother’s coloring but legbar body and crest.
The two I have without naked necks are the friendliest though. The boy is super curious and always has been so we have named him George.

Птицата по-горе има тип тяло с голи вратове, докато нейният брат, който също няма голи вратове, той има окраската на майка си, но тялото и гребена на крака.
Двете, които имам без голи вратове, обаче са най-дружелюбни. Момчето е супер любопитно и винаги е било така, затова го кръстихме Джордж.

Аз направих този кръст. Петел British Araucana and my Country Girl. Това пиленце се излюпи. Ще го следя докато расте, как се развива.
