I use to have a site book marked, that had a chicken amigurumi. Can't find it now, but will look around for you. I came across one, it was soo CUTE!!!! but, they wanted $15.00 for it and that was for it already made, not the pattern.
Purr, thoes look nice, just the way they are. They will go straight when they get connected to what ever.

& nice job on the painting!!!
I my self will work with any brand or kind of yarn. Not to hipped on the fingering yarn. I use to "knot" my ends off for years...years ago!

Now I weave it in a few stitches & that works fine & no "knot bumps".

Well hubby went to the doc today for a follow up from surgery. Toe looks like it is healing pretty good, BUT he has a sore on the bottom of that same foot now, just came back. He had a sore there a couple years ago in the same place & it healed up. So they cultered it today to see what is brewing, it was a bloody/pus looking stuff.

Tiki: I'm with you about that scratchy yarn. I like that soft stuff. I bought some of the HObby Lobby Brand I love this yarn and I do really like it and it's economical.

No chicks: Hope you get some good news about that foot. That is such a scary thing.

Okie: I put Lady in a pet taxi in the back of my suv. You should def take your chicken to pet store. People would love it! Hopefully there won't be any chicken hating dogs. Lady just loved it and sometimes we even went for picnics at the park and she'd sit with me and the kids would play. I was just sick when I lost her. She ate my peace lily plant off and she died the next day. I threw all my lilies in the ditch across the street I was so mad. Why do we always lose the ones we like the best!

Can anyone tell me if I need to turn this amigurumi shape once I have it done, before I stuff it? It's an egg shape. Are you supposed to turn int right side out? or is it already right side out as you're crocheting it? does this make any sense?! LOL!!

Anyone here?

What does this mean? Or more specifically, how am I supposed to do it?

*dec, sc in each of next 1 st* around

If I can't get this egg shape this time around, I am going to abandon this pattern and try another one. I've used the stitch marker, and I've ripped it up three times. It's either my comprehension of the pattern or something is wrong with the pattern.

I havent a clue Okie, sorry. lol I still aint sure if I know how to decrease or increase, a half double what?! lol How you do those? If Scoot checks in, she'll know, or no chicks. Good luck!
Hey, wait, I mean, go to bed!

Well lets see if I understand it....dec, usualy means decrease...so, I am thinking you do a decrease over the next 2 stitches...here is a step by step how to do that....
http://crochet.about.com/library/bl_decrease.htm
THEN you do your stitches around & when you come back to the first stitch of the next row, you decrease again over the first 2 stitches & so on.
It sounds like you have the egg as big as it needs to be & now you are going to go smaller to finish it...right?
hu.gif

As for turning it inside out, unless the directions say to...I don't think you need to.
Hope I have helped.

Oh & skand.....why did you shave that poor chick??

Or was that the one that was born on the spinning wheel.

Thanks no chicks!! I think I may have it!! My egg looks mostly like an egg shape at least!!

I had the decrease part, but could not figure out what it meant to do after that!!!

After trial and error a few times, I figured out what it meant by making sure that it made the shape of an egg....Wow I hope that the rest of the ones I try aren't so hard.

Yep, that's what I was trying to do. I turned it inside out cause it looked better that way, but I have no idea if that's okay on other amigurumi stuff.

Purr, your hexagons are awesome, great job!!! I love them too, they look so cool and they really are easy..very popular right now..good job on those!!!

Good question about the yarn avorite Kris..hard one to answer though!!! I like the fat wool ease and soft caron and the cotton is awesome, I probably like least the boa feathery furry yarns and some of the other lumpier ones. I tried the crochet threads on the itty bitty hooks and that didn't float my boat too much either. Homespun is soft and nice but snaggly, same with light and lofty but gorgeous both of them to use in an afghan. The moda dea tweedle dee yarns are a pure dream to work with..likely why they are 8 bucks a skein!!! Made several scarves for Christmas with those..beatuiful yarn...buy it on sale when you find it and make scarves..you will not regret that decision! The caron is really nice but will sag out need to be consistent with your tension. Some red heart yarn is too rough, some of it is ok. The vanna yarns are all nice to work with, love her earthy rust/orangey/green/red tones! Go in Michaels and molest all their yarn..feel it all up, lol!!! I doubt it will complain and it's probably all of age so nothing illegal
