Hello

I just got a few 8week old pullets
One of them a Golden wyandotte
appears to have a bent toe.

I’m not sure if this has been from an
Injury or if it has just been from the
get go. The seller never commented
on either just stated if I didn’t want
her he would swap her out.

I have been watching her since Saturday
he seems to get around ok but just
wondering how this might progress,?
I have tried to vet wrap it but it just keeps falling off.

Any advice?Thanks

From what I've read about it here on BYC, at 8 weeks old there probably isn't much you can do about it. I have one hen whose middle toes on BOTH feet are bent--one is about 90 degrees, the other is bent just a little less than that. Otherwise, she is perfectly healthy. She is over a year old now, gets around fine: scratches, pecks, perches and even runs. She keeps up with her flockmates now, but I do think that as she ages she will likely be slower than the others.

Oh, and her name is "Bentohe". :)
