Could someone let me know if you always get a sizzle when you cross these two, or if there are other possibilities? Could you get one that looks more like a silkie and one that looks more like a bantam cochin, or will all the chicks look the same? I'm new to the frizzle/sizzle thing, so I'm not sure what to expect. I really appreciate any feedback or pictures.

If you breed a frizzled bantam cochin and a silkie, their offspring will be first generation sizzles - all should look pretty similar, all will have hard feathers (as opposed to silkie feathering) but some may be smooth, and some may be frizzled. Regardless, they will all carry the silkie feathering gene - and if you breed them back to a silkie (or another silkie carrier) you will get silkied chicks in the second generation.

Thank you, that answers a lot of questions. Will they also have the feathering on the top of their heads like a silkie? I know the feathers are different, but I'm curious if they would be bearded and have the silkie type of look. Also, do you know their temperament and if they can fly?
Thank you

Thanks TurtleFeathers!

I THINK I just hatched an egg from the frizzle Sizzles. My roo is neither banty or cochin---so it will be interesting to see what happens.

The chick in the front has a suspicious poofy head.

Thank you so much for the great pictures and info, they are so adorable and silly all in one!
I have one more question, can they fly with the frizzle feathers?
I'm just curious. I have silkies, which is all I'm used to, and will be getting some eggs from a local woman who has been breeding her F1 bantam frizzle cochin with a splash silkie hen and a partridge silkie hen, so I'm just wondering what they will be like.

Thanks, again!
