Hiya,

My little chicken is crowing loudly and I was wondering if there was any way of stopping him from doing it! It sounds horrible I know but it annoys the neighbors around our house because he does it really early in the day and if he doesn't be quiet or stop altogether, we have to go to plan B, selling him, and everyone hates seeing their chicken(s) go, so please help me save my little chicken!

Thanks everyone!

Glad you joined us!

I've always heard to try putting him in a cage that is low enough so that he can't stand up fully (hence, can't get into crowing position). Try w/food and water for a few days and then let him out and see. Not sure if this is a long-term solution, however.

Hi and welcome to BYC from northern Michigan :D

You might try posting in the chicken behaviors section. Unfortunately, short of keeping him shut in all the time, you may have to find a home for him where the crowing is not an issue.

i dont think any of those would help except killing him, which i woodnt do.But i got another rooster and he is smaller than my othr rooster and he nvr stops crowing

its really loud too, and he crows one after the othr, he barely gives my othr rooster a chance 2 crow

Well, if you like him so much, at least allow him to be a NATURAL rooster at someone else's house, but don't torture him by keeping him in the dark or caged so he can't stand, and for heaven's sake, please don't de-crow him by having his vocal cords cut! If you can't give him a humane life, eat him and enjoy him that way.
