Cuckoo Maran Rooster/ Gold laced wyandotte hen cross. What happened here?

“Importations of "English type" clean-legged Marans have led to the establishment of many clean-legged flocks in this country, especially in the cuckoo variety; nonetheless, the American standard adheres to the French standard calling for lightly feathered shanks and toes.”

That’s from this website, here:

Our Cuckoo Marans don’t have feathered shanks either. So I presume they’re still considered purebred, but don’t fully conform to standard? Not that this is probably a great comparison, but I had a white German Shepherd growing up. He was the Old-Fashioned style, purebred (large bones, straight back), but he would have been disqualified from entering in any AKC show because the standard didn’t recognize white as a color. Other than the supposed color, he was GSD down to the bone in every way possible.

Any update on how the chick turned out? Here’s my cockerel and pullet at 23.5 weeks. I can now officially confirm the cockerel is 100% out of my BLR. The pullet is out of my gold-laced hen.
