Didn’t think I’d be letting my girls go broody again, but when Hetty settled on her nest we figured it was too late to persuade her off
we’ve ended up with 3 lovely looking and, so far, healthy goslings!
Now the first issue is that Hetty is our most defensive goose, we got her from a farm where the geese had practically no human contact and didn’t even have a pond to wash themselves in, so she does not like us approaching her (im hoping to work on this so that she doesn’t end up raising 3 geese that despise us lol)
And two - one of my other geese, Polly, has assimilated herself into this family as a nanny somehow? It’s the funniest thing, the parents aren’t a bit bothered about her nipping Hetty to check that the goslings are still moving and she follows them around and sleeps right next to Hetty lol
Here are some of the pics! Any clues on the genders? We’re usually pretty good at telling, but when these 3 hatched they all had pretty dark grey patches, now they’re looking a bit paler. We think there’s one girl and one boy at least
