Cutest baby chick!

The dad is a Faverolle x Blue Copper Maran and this one just hatched from my Welsummer’s egg this morning (brooded curtesy of my Orpingtons). I was not expecting this cute little one. It has a cute little beard, feathered legs and I can’t get over its adorable little face This one is part of my “pretty, but hardy” dark brown layer project.

Two little blues hatched overnight from my Mille Fleur D’Uccle hen’s eggs. The Faverolle x Maran mentioned above is also the dad (pictured below). They are half of the size of the first chick so I am hoping to have two blueish D’Uccle style chickens when they grow up.
