I stumbled across your thread with that story when I was a lurker. I thought it was really well done! You actually inspired me, and I am super grateful for that!
I also love Arne's character :)
Oh wow! I didn’t know you’d read it and im glad to have been an inspiration to you! It makes me happy when i see people enjoying my little brain worlds that i mustered up enough will power to put on paper lol

I totally agree with you! I'm also super happy when others appreciate my work! Sadly, writing is not one of my strong suits, that would be more piano. I love to create pieces of music for the piano, and others enjoy it too.

For todays prompt:

“You mustn’t worry so, brother.” Altair sat in the corner of the room looking on, his brow furrowed in concern, “You know it makes it worse when you do.”
He was right. Any stress seemed to make the episodes of pain more frequent and more aggressive.
I stood, one hand pressed to the wall, one over my face.
“Please sit down, Arne.” Altair rose from his perch and pulled me firmly towards the ground.
I sank under his guiding hands.
He hadn’t said a word when I had burst through the door a couple minutes before. Flustered didn’t even begin to describe how I had felt and he knew that interrupting my hurried rantings would only irritate the situation. He had remained invested in my frantic mutterings as I paced back and forth and had stooped to pick up the shatters of a dish knocked to the floor by my wing.
“…I continue to warn of insufficient protection. No one will listen to me. They laugh now but I have seen what is to come. I have seen it with my own eyes…,” I had stopped pacing then, “And by the time they see it as well…it will be too late…”
”Have you tried taking it to the Caso-“ Altair had started but I cut him off with a burning glare.
“Absolutely not,” I growled, “You know full well what the outcome wi-” and this time I was the one being cut off by a burning sensation in my chest.
There was of course nothing he could do, granted, he suffered the same condition though less frequently. He knew how it felt and he knew that a quiet presence was what helped the most.
So now he sat on the floor next to me pondering everything I had previously said.
”You know,” Altair began slowly after a while, “You’ve been acting different as of late. I have never known you to be so irritable…is everything okay?”
I turned to look at him before promptly returning my eyes to the floor. “I… do not wish to say.”
”But I think you should,” He insisted. “Spit it out.”
”I…” Admitting this was like swallowing hot acid, in fact I think I would have preferred to do so.

“…I am afraid.”

I changed it a bit...

The black wolf paced through the fallen leaves, he did not notice the smaller wolf approaching him.

“Ash?”

“What!” He snapped swinging his head around to see her recoil at his outburst. “Oh, Lilly, I’m sorry. I didn't know it was you.” He dropped his head as he apologized.

Callalilly hesitantly walked over to him, “I’m almost scared to ask who you thought I was...” She sat beside him and curled her white tipped tail over her paws.

Ash gazed off into the trees surrounding them, “Giving you three guesses would be being generous .” He said softly.

“You’ve been acting weird today...” she paused as if unsure whether to finish the question, “Is everything alright?”

It was Ash's turn to sit, he faced his back to his sister, “I don't want to say, but you know me well enough to know the answer.”

“It's okay, you can tell me. Maybe I can help fix things?”

Ash stood suddenly, “There's no fixing what she did.”
