Hello, I’ve Googled for hours, thought I’d see what y’all think…
Just picked up these 5 Black and Blue Copper Marans yesterday. 2 of the pullets have dark coloration on their combs. It’s the 2 that also have darker eye coloring for Marans. You’ll notice that the 3 with lighter eyes have red combs as they should. While you can never be certain, I’m told that they are purebreds. They are said to be from 2 different lines though. They appear healthy and act normally. We don’t live where it’s very cold. It’s winter, so I really wouldn’t expect sunburn. I don’t see scabs on the combs, so bruising seems unlikely? Thanks peeps!
