I'm sorry. It's always a bummer to lose a good girl.

Thank you so muchVery sorry you lost her!
The deworming schedule can vary a lot depending on the amount of chickens, the general weather conditions and whether they are kept in a run or are allowed to range freely over some acres.
Once or twice a year would be good, preferably in spring and then again in autumn.
If you live in a very humid and warm climate, deworming more often can be necessary as parasites thrive in these conditions and speed up their reproductive cicles.
So sad. Thank youI'm sorry. It's always a bummer to lose a good girl.![]()
Would you advise to do several treatments simultaneously such as Acv and/or garlic cloves in their water (their water is in 2 glass mason jars) or garlic powder in their feed, and some pumpkin seeds or stick to one treatment?Thank you so muchI just wish I knew what the cause was.
I have put ACV in their water in the past but not religiously for a deworming treatment. I’ll do that this week.
We live in south Florida and I have (now) 12 girls. I’ve sectioned off a large part of the periphery of the yard (1.25 acres) but they keep escapingso they’re essentially free range until I find another solution.
I’d prefer to do it naturally with acv or pumpkin seeds if possible? Do you think plain yogurt is a good option for replenishing their gut flora?
Awwwww, so very sorry for your loss. Thank you for all you did to try and help her!Sadly I woke up this morning and she has passed away.My heart is broken that I was not able to help her. Thank you all for your invaluable suggestions and help.
Yes she always has access to crushed eggs shell (they didn’t like oyster shell) and have not dewormed them but I will be sure to now!! How often do
I need to do it?
Yes on the yogurt...Thank you so muchI just wish I knew what the cause was.

Adding terramin clay to their food. This is a natural dewormer. Essentially, the parasites feast on the clay and are carried out, so to speak. https://www.good-earthstore.com/terramin-clay/Ok great thank you. I haven’t seen any worms in their feces in the 2 years I’ve had them. Is it necessary do you think?
Are there any more natural remedies that work?
That’s fantastic thank you so much! Are they alive once out? Silly question as they don’t eat their own feces but do I have to worry about the chickens eating them?Adding terramin clay to their food.
