Day 21, Egg crushed and baby still in amniotic fluid, but chirping. What do I do?

I have a Broody hatching some eggs and when I went outside to check on her and provide her with fresh water, an egg was crushed. This egg was crushed to the point that I could see the baby inside and see the baby still inside the fluid, but I was able to locate the beak.

This egg also dealt with issues before where it got cracked early on, and it had to be sealed with wax twice, and ironically, where it was crushed was where the wax had originally held it together, but baby is chirping and breathing, but I am unsure what to do because it looks like the baby is still inside the amniotic fluid.

I went ahead and wrapped the baby in a wet paper towel and placed it inside my incubator (with my duck eggs - they’re a week from hatch) , but I am unsure what else to do at this point and I’m also thinking maybe the baby tried to pip but based on where the beak was located, it was trying to pip where the wax that originally covered a previous break so I’m wondering if that would’ve halted the baby leaving the egg because of the wax in that area.

Any insights or recommendations very welcomed I would like to keep this baby alive because little dude has had a rough start up and I would like little dude to have a positive ending to hatching.

Keep moist and warm, which you are doing. That egg is crushed enough he should be able to hatch when he’s ready and as he is near term you don’t have to worry about bacterial overgrowth killing him while he finishes maturing. But he may also be injured from whatever happened to the egg, so be prepared that he doesn’t make it.

Update: 7pm - Little guy is still chilling and chirping ! His beak is finally out. But I’m still waiting patiently.

Good luck little one, you can do it!
Little one is a fighter for sure! That baby has defied so many odds. Little baby’s siblings are pipping and hatching too, ones already fully out and two more a bit of the way into it. Still waiting on 3 more to pip!

& For mama being a first time mom, she’s nailing it and doing really good with the other babies.

I’ll give this little one back to her whenever he/she breaks out more. I just want to monitor it incase it’s semi shrink wrapped and I have to assist.
