Hi

So one of the ducks we hatched ourselves has been sitting on her nest beautifully for 31 days today she has got off and left it all day. She's a runner.

I've just candled the eggs and most looks like they are at the very end stage. Can't see any movement. but the eggs largely looks like all ours did before they pipped, almost like they just need a bit more time.

I've transferred them into our incubator. Do you think I'm wasting my time? How long would you give it?

Thanks for any advice.

Did you candle in a dark place? Were the eggs warm at the time? Once eggs are warm candle again in the dark. Veins or movements are both indicators of life. How sure are you on the start date? Are the eggs runner duck eggs?

Def sure what day she first started sitting full time. Yes they are runner eggs. She has laid them in the shed so they have been dry but it's autumn here so I'm wondering about humidity and heat it's very late. I will candle again later when it's dark but at the end before they pipped before when I hatched my own I couldn't see anything.
