Day old chick don’t like starter any advice?

Ill try force feeding a bit since now the chick is only pooping water which makes me feel horrible. She looks hungry but is refusing to eat, i cluck for food she comes running but once she sees crumbs becomes uninterested. Maybe she needs a bit of a pickup before she will start eating more, what is your opinion on adding baby bird handfeeding formula to the mash for extra protein and fat since she is skin and bones now..
Yeah that’s how my chicks were too! They got so weak that they started to give up but when I helped them gain strength back they were wanting to eat by themselves and were fine!😉 Not sure haven’t used that stuff but if there is no harmful effect and it helps them gain strength I would say sure try it!😁

Have you tried offering mashed hard-boiled egg?
The chick is still jumping around but not gaining weight. I weigh them everyday and this chick is now smaller than the one one week older (i mean she was born small maybe that contributes to how she is now). I tried hard boiled egg and all the other chick loved it except for this one. I noticed that she will eat the chick starter only at night and in the afternoon so she will be starving the whole day. Although she is accepting of the morning/afternoon feedings of bird handfeeding formula i give her (seems to like the formula and will peck at the syringe but not when its in a bowl). If i try feeding her by hand with starter in the mornings she won’t eat any. Should this work okay for awhile?

I think so! Just get as much food in her as you can!😉

She is loving the formula and will eat until her crop is full. Although im not sure how good it is for her to eat a lot of formula, should i switch to this other formula i could quickly grab since it looks to be more similar to starter than the last one i sent?

Whatever you think is best! But if it is more like the starter I would probably switch to the better one and try it!😉 So glad she’s doing better!😁

Devastating update the chick might have been trampled by the other brahma chick. The chick is a week younger but much larger. I left for 2 hours with the chicks still running and happy but came back to the chick half buried in the bedding!

sadly no she passed, im not sure if she got stepped on by the other chicks or she finally passed from her growth issues. it was so sudden, when i left she was flying around the brooder. not lethargic or anything when i found her she was face down, flattened almost, half burried in the shavings :(. maybe the hyper active large chick accidently kicked her? as ive seen the chick kick others when zooming around the brooder. sadly i am now down to two chicks, might have to add more chicks to my flock than i thought... this was the most frustrating batch of chicks ive raised...

I’m so sorry. At least now her suffering is over. Yeah I’m never sure whether it’s the other chicks or the sick chick that leads to situations like this. As I have also dealt with many chicks with growth problems. They seem to be fine one minute and then all the sudden their bodies break down. I’m sorry it’s been so hard for you it sounds very frustrating.☹️
