DE and First Saturday Lime. Over or under the bedding?

I’ve got so many ants and flys. Just cleaned out the coop and found tons of ants under the wood shavings. Is what first Saturday lime sprinkled all over but it doesn’t seem to stop them. I’ve sprayed permethrin 10 in the coop and it’s drying. So bedding first or after? I’ve also got those horse pellets folks have been talking about but have been scared to use as I’m worried they’ll eat them.

We've been using horse bedding pellets both in our coop for 8 years and in our brooders just this past spring/summer. They may try them but then go "bleh." No more than chips of wood shavings. We've had zero issues.

As for DE/First Sat Lime, whichever you use, usually it's sprinkled over the bedding, but if you have ants, I know for a fact the DE will kill those as we use that around our house for ants.

I would go all around the outside of your coop with DE. If it rains, redo it.
