DE: How many Pounds to a Gallon?

I’ve found a decent price on amazon for a 50lb bag of Food Grade DE (by Perma Guard) but also see it sold by the gallon....I’d like to compare the final price but can’t seem to figure out how to convert powder lbs to gallons.

Does anyone know how many gallons of powder are in a 50lb bag?

I’m coming up with= about 50lbs= 7.5 gallons
..does that sound about right?

Two ways to measure that - weight or volume. A gallon of liquid weighs 8.34 pounds. A gallon of anything by volume is four quarts.

You're very close. Fifty pounds of feed would fill close to eight one-gallon containers by volume.

Of course, it's your birds so if you want to use DE, go for it. Just note, the claims that it is a "dewormer" and effective "ectoparasite killer" is widely exaggerated, and factually untrue.
