Dead chickens

Mice eat anything.

Those rat traps put a real hurt on the mice. I did get 2 in the live trap. The first one had it's legs eaten off.

Chicken wire is ONLY good for keeping chickens in. Chicken wire will NOT keep predators out.

I agree. For keeping predators out, sadly chicken wire is useless. And yes it will be back. Hardwire is needed. Good luck, you sound like you have good plans to help protect your girls.

I think he was trying to get away. He was in a screened off area of the coop I put in for setting hens. There was a hen in there also that was alive. Can a weasel/mink get through chicken wire?

Heck yes. A weasel can get through a hole the size of a quarter--anything a mouse can get through. Only heavy, half-inch hardware cloth will stop them.

OK, finally done. Cost a mint but the whole run is enclosed in Hardware cloth. No weasel will get back in there. I don't even think mice will be able to get in.
