Hello, first time poster and turkey owner here. I have 7 pasture raised broad breasted bronze turkeys that are 6 months old now, 3 of them are male. About a week ago I noticed one of the males had stopped strutting and looked a bit under the weather. His head was a bit discolored but after feeding time he seemed to look better. He continued to look a bit sick but was still eating and drinking fine up until two days ago. His head has turned a deep shade of purple and the wattle and caruncles have shrunk down and are cool to the touch. He's refusing to eat and rapidly losing weight. He still drinks though. His poop is runny but not particularly discolored. When I picked him up to inspect him tonight he vomited up a small amount of water that had a slight sour smell. I checked his crop but it seems empty. Watching him today he spends most of his time just standing with his eyes half closed or walking around slowly. I've quarantine him now and luckily whatever it is seemingly hasn't spread to the rest of the flock.
At first I thought it might have been coccidiosis as I've had issues with it in goats and chickens in the past raised on the same pasture. I started to treat their water with corid and electrolytes 4 days ago but it hasn't improved his symptoms. There's not many diseases that fit all the symptoms here so I'm confused at what it could be. I'm worried it might be too late for him or that the other birds might become infected. Not sure what to diagnosis this as or what treatment I should administer. Has anyone seen symptoms like this?
I have a photo taken yesterday. It was difficult to see the purple coloration through the camera so I increased the contrast a bit. His head is noticeably darker than the turkey behind him.
