my husband gets an upset stomach sometimes to the point of diarrhea when eating homegrown eggs. He does not have this problem with store bought eggs.

I store my eggs on the kitchen counter. I’m wondering if I start washing them and storing them in the fridge if it would make a difference. Could it be becaiof what I’m feeding he girls vs what commercial layers are fed?

If it were a food allergy I would think alll egg would bother him.

Anyone else have this experience?

Our house is 72* day and cooler at night. Cooking the same, I really don’t pay too much attention to the feed brands, just a layer pellet but the brand changes depending on where I purchase which makes me think it probably isn’t related to the feed. I’ll buy some egg wash today and see if that makes a difference.

I can eat off streetcarts in Mexico with no problem. Maybe I have a cast iron stomach and he is just delicate. LOL

My husband's stomach is much more sensitive than mine, too. If you're undercooking them ( over easy) then washing and refrigerating might help but really if the bloom is intact when they're on your countertop, it shouldn't matter. How old are they when you cook them?

Not every day. When I woke up this morning I noticed the Imodium package on the counter. I asked him about it and he took it about midnight after eating hard boiled eggs yesterday afternoon. :(

Just saw this in a group

I have this problem too. I have always eaten eggs. I love them. When I get nice fresh ones from a friend with chickens, they more often give me diarrhea. Store bought almost never do It only last for one bout, and I don’t feel terrible, so I keep trying. I love fresh eggs!

I don’t know why. I was wondering if home eggs are more “rich” - fatty. In general my bowls don’t like fatty foods ( animal fat)
