Totally predictable that you would get black with a lavender and a white mating.
Both are recessive genes and lavender is a dilution of black. Without the recessive white having another copy the chicks default back to black because there was also not another copy of lavender.

Crosses often give unexpected colours. I had a lavender (light greyish) hen and a pile (mostly white ) rooster. The 2 chicks I got where black.
