Did my duck just upchuck a gizzard/grit stone (gastrolith)?

He was just sitting there napping when he started to flex his neck and chest funny, then he began to shake his head and I caught the tail end on video of him ejecting a stone from his throat. I grabbed it to double check he was okay (he is!). The is super smooth like a gastrolith, but it doesn't look like the stones of the stream my ducks hang out in (which is sharp gravel and coarse sand), and Google says ducks don't eject their grit like that (instead opting to grind them so small they pass out the back end) so I'm not sure!

It looks like a river pebble [I just bought several sacks from Home Depot]

I don't know where your drake got it from.

Ducks don't vomit often -- some folks say they don't vomit at all. So your video is very interesting as it catches the event

It is entirely possible he found it in the stream or on the bank, and I just blinked and missed him picking it up. It just seemed weird that he was napping and suddenly was shaking his head so violently to toss the stone.

But another point to it possibly being a gizzard stone could be that he has been doing a weird maneuver recently when napping (over the last 3 days or so), where he was lifting his crop and flexing it as if uncomfortable. Maybe it was a stone he's had in there for a while and it was just big and didn't fit comfortably and he finally got it out.
